I decided to try my hand on scrapbooking, like finally! I do not have the habit of putting my photos into my crafts because I usually don’t print out my photos. But because I have a few printed photos lying under my table, I decided to put them into crafts instead so that I can display on my table. So the first stop to get started is to look at sketches of layouts to get started and I decided to join in Sketchabilities Sketch #130 challenge for my very first attempt at scrapbooking.
I decided to go for a simple and clean look with blue and purple theme. So here’s my take for this:
I printed the photo using my canon PIXMA printer and Canon photopaper before cutting out, leaving the white border around it. Next, I started out with a blank canvas-like paper and painted the background with a mixture of blue and purple using distress ink dusty concord and faded jeans. I used mini tiles TCW stencil and white gesso to create some texture before I started on the layering process.
I layered Prima flowers and gauze underneath the paper, as well as using spellbinder rose die cut to make beautiful embellishment, layering on top of the self-cut paper ribbons and punched out lace border. I also add blue rhinestones on the border as well. After which, I sprayed0 the whole paper with Heidi Swapp Color Shine Sea Foam to give the paper a shimmery effect (which you can’t see here though). Finally, I added Prima wood embellishment as a finishing touch. <3
Somehow, I am not at all satisfied with the look, but hey…
there’s always a first time for everything 🙂
