Old man eye sketch – on Daler Rowney FIne Grain Paper using Staedtler pencils, mechanical pencil (7B, 3B, 2B)
I haven’t been drawing much for the past months so I thought that I should do some practice on the shade rendering. So my main focus was to do some shading and highlighting practice. I thought choosing the old man’s eye as a reference will be a good starting point because you require alot of attention and focus on the wrinkles and the veins in the eye as well as the rough skin, unlike the skin of a young person which was smooth.
I made this sketch in 3 hours, and I am glad that my skills is not that rusty!
