I always try to get myself to do a little bit of crafting or painting each week. But sometimes, it is not pretty easy juggling between a full-time day job and working on my art projects at night. Most days, I will become so tired from work and it can be pretty tough for me to get motivation to approach my crafting table. When that happens, I always try to give myself an hour time limit challenge.
For this post, I gave myself a time limit of an hour painting “Fly me to the moon”. My mood was not very good at that point of time and the song “Fly me to the moon” somehow came to me and I had to paint to get something off my chest. The reason why this song came to my mind is because my husband used to sing that song to lull me to sleep during our courtship days. During my difficult moments, he would sang that song over the phone whenever I had trouble sleeping. So this song is really special!
As usual, I always prefer acrylic paints (Winsor & Newton) because they dry really fast. And a little bit of black gouache for the little girl holding a balloon because I just want to try out this new set of gouache ( Winsor & Newton Designers’ Gouache) which I bought from Amazon. I have not touched gouache before and I really like it compared to watercolor as it gave me a more opaque look.

And yes!
I managed to paint this in less than an hour, despite the husband’s interruption and nagging at me to eat fruits. <3
