I have been crafting non-stop for the past week (due to a rushed order of explosion box) and I told BB that I wanted to take a break from crafting for this week, so he asked me to choose a place to have a nice dinner this evening since I am quite a big foodie as well! So I choose…Yayoiken!

Yayoiken Japanese Restaurant has been one of my top favorite list of Japanese restaurants after I stumbled upon it few months ago. And to think I noticed it when I went on a solo window shopping trip to 313 @ somerset after work just to have time alone to myself. So initially I was planning to dine in a restaurant nearby when I just feel like I have craving for Oyako don(chicken with scrambled egg) and I found this little restaurant tucked at one corner of the basement of 313. Initially I was a little skeptical whether their food will be good because there was not much crowd inside that day, but the craving for chicken don was so great that I just went straight in! The food came out great! And really….it was heavenly and since then, this restaurant was always recommended to my friends. 🙂
So imagine my delight when Yayoiken decided to open their fifth outlet at Star Vista today which is near my workplace within walking distance! And of course, I decided to dine there for dinner with BB!
So to cut short my story of not needing to queue due to less crowd (we ate quite early in evening), we decided to order Oyako don (yea..that’s me again!) and Buta Yakiniku set (Sliced pork & vegetables on hot plate).
Look at the egg! It is so soft and fluffy (that I am going to die!) yet so delicious! I actually top up to change my miso shiru to kaijiru (clam soup) and I can tell you that it was way way awesome. If you are clam lovers…get that! The chicken was so soft and chewy, and the addition of shiokness when you add in pickled vegetables (available on table).
BB chose grilled pork instead of his favorite fried meat because he wasn’t feeling hungry that evening.
I can’t remember the price for this though. The meat does not look that appealing so I thought it wouldn’t be delicious. But I was wrong. The meat was so yummy when you dipped with the provided sauce. I can’t describe the taste of the sauce but believe me…it is real good!
Overall, we enjoyed the food! No regret!
And to add on to our gratification, we splurge on ice cream after dinner at Geláre!
Mango Sherbert and Choc Choc Crun with regular waffle top with chocolate sauce. Sinful and heavenly 🙂
