As mentioned in earlier post, BB took me for a surprise when he gently pushed me (actually…more of forcibly pushed me) towards the Sentosa entrance which at that time, I refused to because I really have no desire to walk around Sentosa when I was feeling dead tired and sleepy due to late night sleep and a heavy lunch.
Ok, putting my roller-coaster mood aside, he brought me to the Beach Station and then he finally told me that he actually booked the tickets “Wings of Time” this morning after checking the weather forecast since the Wings of Time is the outdoor theatre. And I was pleasantly surprised! My mood lightened a little 🙂
So once the gates to the Wings of Time opened an hour early, we went in to get good seats. We avoided sitting the blue benches because from past experiences of attending such shows, “blue” always indicated that there will be water splashing onto that zone. And our guess were right!
Since it was still early for the song performance, there was a starting where the trainers were showing everyone the eagle and that kept us entertained while more people filled in. Once 7.40pm started, it was already full house and we were busy munching off popcorn which can be redeemed from the snack collection.
I have never been to the Songs of the Sea before so I cannot compared between the two. But from what I saw from the performance, it is the story about two teenages, Rachel and Felix, went on an adventure with Shahbaz, a mystical pre-historic bird. I do not want to reveal much storyline here mainly because I do not want to reveal spoilers so that you can enjoy the performance 🙂 I know there were people who already blogged about it but hey…you can choose to skip through those you know? 😉 But all I can say is that the story involved friendship and courage and does the story of their journey end well?
Go watch and see!
So enough talking and here’s some pictures taken during the show:
The show ended with beautiful fireworks! I just love fireworks. 🙂
Thanks to BB’s surprise, it brightened up my mood <3
Overall, I love the whole show. The storyline was easy to follow and the music was really soothing. With the combined choreographed multimedia effects and the music, the show was able to keep us transfixed throughout the whole time!

After show, since we have $3 coupons (can choose participating outlets) for each us which came together with the tickets, we went for dinner at Tastes of Asia because it was nearby and the menu looked good .
They served variety of cuisine like Indian, Singaporean, Thai and Vietnamese dishes. BB ordered Pad Thai while I ordered Egg Omelette with Shrimp.
My dish came and it doesn’t look at all appealing. The sauce was too sweet and the egg was not even that fluffy as what most omelettes were served in other restaurant. And the rice was totally not well cooked at all. The rice grains were so hard and I couldn’t get to eat more than half a bowl of rice without having problems chewing.
BB’s pad thai looked alright from the appearance. But according to him, it did not taste at all like pad thai. Not spicy nor sour enough. Huh oh. That’s bad.
And my opinion?
Do not ever eat at Taste of Asia. The food was really horrible and we are not even picky eaters. Usually we were alright with any food but we were seriously dismayed by the lack of quality of the food and the prices is not even that cheap. And the serving time was too long. I personally feel food court food taste way better than that, and way cheaper too.
We ate quickly and went off before the second show of the Wings of Time ended to avoid the flooding of the crowds and we managed to catch glimpse of the ending fireworks from the beach station platform!
