If you have ever watch the korean drama “Heartstrings”, you will notice a scene where the characters were able to interact with the art pieces known as trick art in the Alive Museum in Jeju (Seoul, Korea) which can create beautiful nice 3D effect in photos/videos!
Now, Trick art finally arrived in Singapore! Alive museum which is the original 3D visual illusion museum originated in South Korea, is part of the largest chain of 3D interactive illusionary art museum in the world. It branched out globally in Turkey, Vietnam, Thailand, China and finally, it reaches Singapore in June 2014 as its 15th branch. It is considered the largest 3D Illusionary Museum in Singapore, with over 80 masterpieces spread out over 10,000sqft!
What makes it more exciting for us is because, Alive Museum Singapore (AMS) will change 30% of their exihibits for new exhibits each year (every 12-18 months) in order to allow everyone to come back and yet still enjoy the brand new experiences on repeated visits. Do look out for special seasons such as Christmas because AMS will also add in special exhibits as well.
And BETTER YET, take advantage of the free WiFi provided so that you can upload and share the fun snapshots immediately with your friends and family on various social media platforms!

It was a pleasure to be invited by OMY.SG, compliments of the Alive Museum team! I was allowed to bring along a guest as well, which of course, I ask my fiance as both of us love illusionary art. The entrance near the ticketing counter was already enticing enough for us to take a picture because the seashell on the sea was so cute! In addition, the tickets given were also lovely enough to be kept as souvenirs.
Alive museum SG showcase 3 types of art: Trick art, Digital art and Object art.
As taken from the Alive Museum website:
Trick art was very popular during the Baroque era in the 16th century. Using 3D painting techniques like using curve and reflection of light, perspective and shadows, these can makes flat classic painting into 3D artworks.
Digital art allows you to experience virtual reality created using state-of-art technologies and art elements.
Object art is done by using perspective, special properties of glass and mirror effects, allowing you to experience magical ideas in reality. Is seeing believing? Touch and be part of the art pieces for an immersive experience that you will talk about for a long time to come!
Personally, I love Trick art and Object art, so we tend to take more photos with those! And it is harder to take picture with digital arts unless you take a video.
Inside the museum, we were met with so many beautiful and interesting pieces! It is kind of amazing to see every paintings in every room because they were all hand painted by talented artists from Alive Museum Team (South Korea) and I really wish I could meet them because their works were so beautiful! They make use of various painting techniques which allows those paintings to look alive and vibrant at certain perspective so this will make us feel that the paintings looks so 3D in pictures!
There are instructions (pose points and photo point icons) on where to stand to get good angle and suggested poses were also put up so it is up to you to decide what kind of poses you want. We did not manage to take all the artpieces because it was crowded and it kinds of get a little cramped so we just took those that we really like or when there is more space to take the pictures. We took more photos in the second half of the museum because the crowd has eased by then, and we were able to take our time to pose and took photos.
Some pictures we took were excluded in my post because of the poor lighting. The lights for some art pieces were quite dimmed and it doesn’t give us the capability to capture good photos because part of our faces were either overexposed or shadowed. But this is minor problem if you know photoshop which can help you to enhance the photos for better effects.
So for now, let the pictures do most of the talking! (All my photos were photoshopped to bring out the beautiful 3D effects as some photos were quite dark due to poor lighting)
On the side note, two past doodles of the dragons I drew for my friends to encourage them (Doodles drawn in ball point pen)!
I love dragons and I love drawing them. So when le bf saw this, he urged me to pose which I was initially reluctant because the corridor was so small and there was a big crowd outside cramped together, so it got awkward with me posing while the big crowd was looking at me. Faster take, faster go!
It is supposed to be leaning forward pose but I find that boring and decided to do this pose instead. And actually, I didn’t want to do the lean forward pose mainly because I am too short and will look awkward!
And finally, I love these pictures! It feels like a wedding casual photoshoot! Maybe we should really consider holding a wedding casual shoot in the museum next time. Sounds like a good idea since both of us love 3D art! Do you know that Alive Museum actually allow pre-wedding photoshoots as well?

After the whole “ride” in the museum, we were greeted with wide range of exclusive hand-made Alive Museum candies at the merchandise store.
Despite the crowd, we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. It was great meeting nice people who helped us took photos and even suggested some of the poses and helped us adjusted our poses when they also came to experience it themselves!
Word of caution for girls: Please avoid wearing skirt as there is a mirror room where everywhere were placed with mirrors, even the floor.

Cute! How was the queue for “popular stations”?
Not that long. I usually took photos at stations which has lesser people while waiting for the popular stations. Good to go at weird timing 🙂
