9th August marks the the occasion, where we will celebrate the National Day annually by National Day Parade (NDP) and ceremony. With this year’s theme “Our People, Our Home”, it means that Singapore has come this far, where all of us come together as one nation, one people. We are diverse in races, but we are still united as one.

I had the opportunity to attend the NDP Preview 2014 where I enjoyed the parade and the performance tremendously! It started out with me collecting the goodie bag and heading straight to the green sector and checking out the goodies before the NDP show start.
PS: I did not take much pictures because I forgot to bring my camera…(How can I forget that?!!?) and my phone was running out of battery! Talk about tough luck! My apologies!
BB decided to take a panoramic view of the floating platform because it will be the last time we will be viewing NDP at floating platform. I think next year, NDP will be held at the newly built National Stadium instead. Have you ever been there? It was really huge and I was there when they had the world-breaking record for holding the largest chinese orchestra performance (4500 participants!).
Back to the NDP post! The parade which showcases various uniformed groups as well as various organisations which serve Singapore which also took part in the parade:
The parade also showcases the Dynamic Defence Display (D3) which involved 31 platforms from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and Singapore Police Force (SPF). As shown in the picture below, the show displayed the Singapore Army platforms, and other platforms (which I did not manage to take nice pictures, hence the lack of photos) as well!
And I always love to see helicopters flying past with the Singapore flag! Every year, I would always watch from my window (Yes! From my windows!), though it was just a tiny fleck but the flag can still be seen!
As darkness fell, the parade ended and the performances began! Everything was so perfectly coordinated and so beautiful with may performers in their colorful costumes, and the singers belting out the NDP-themed songs which makes me feel so nostalgic. From time to time, fireworks will burst into the sky and exploded into beautiful shimmering falling stars. I just love watching the fireworks most as they shoot across the night sky 🙂
A new released music video, “Home”, which is all-time favorite NDP theme song (my favorite since few years ago!) demonstrate how Singapore is our home :
And another music video released which showcase the singers of diverse backgrounds as well as showing glimpses of Singaporeans coming together as one people, one nation:
