Hello! I made an explosion box few weeks back and have even sneak in a peek in my previous post. I was asked whether it is possible to do up a yellow and pink theme since it was the recipient’s favorite colours and I was thinking…why not?
And here it is!
I used Pinkpaislee Core Impression yellow cardstock (Modern Prints Collection) as the surface because it gave a lovely view of the embossed hexagon, giving an overall classy look. As my usual style, I distressed the edges of the paper as well.
On the cover, i did layering of the prima flowers, gauze and paper cutout of the tree branches before layering with a big white flower. The white flower was actually sprayed on using Heidi Swapp Gold Spray Mist to give it a shimmery gold-like effect and I just like how it turned out! “Piggy” was printed out and the border was die cut using Spellbinders die cut, before distressing the edge of the frame using pink chalk ink and adding glitter using Diamond Sticklers. And of course….you will never go wrong with the beautiful pearl embellishments as well!
It was also requested for a cute theme because the recipient loves Pom om Purin character. I though of the idea of coming up with a colourful, cute and yet chic look. The patterned papers was printed using Canon PIXMA printer, and I decided to come up with two layers so that Polaroids can be put in as well (top layer). I cut and score the top layer after making measurements to ensure that Polaroids can be put in before gluing up and adding a ribbon, prima flowers and metal embellishment as finishing touch.
I added paper dolly and curled the corner of the dolly before adding on the holder. The holder for the Pom Pom Purin key chain was cut out after I make measurement on the paper, layered with the pattern paper before adding the shimmering gold – white flower (sprayed on using Heidi Swapp Gold Colorshine Spray Mist).
The bottom layer is meant to be just embellishments with a single mini card on one square for personal note. All paper embellishments were cut using my trusty Silhouette CAMEO 🙂
The black background was sprayed using Heidi Swapp Black Colorshine spray mist before adding and blending white gesso to create a “faded” look. I blinked the icing of the cake using Diamond Sticklers as well.
Notice the camera’s heartshape? I actually add crackle accent on it and it gave the crackled look! One of my favorite embellishments so far!

This got to be a perfect birthday gift and I was so glad after getting feedback that the recipient loves it too! It always warm my heart whenever my crafts bring smile to someone’s face! <3
