Making swivel card got me started on my card making journey and after so many years (8 years to be exact), I decided to make one last weekend. I don’t know why, but somewhow I just feel like making it because there is an urge to make one. And since I am a Harry Potter fan, and I love looking at ancient maps, I decided to make a swivel card that go according to that kind of map style. You know those movies like the pirates looking for treasures and Harry Potter looking at map, they would open the map and started looking at it. I want my card to work that way too.
So I made my own map using photoshop and printing on textured paper using Canon Pixma printer. OMG! I just love Canon Pixma Printer which was sponsored by Canon, thanks to the invitation from Janet from OMY.sg (which I will talk more about it in my next post! ). And of course, pictures will do most of the talking!
Travel and Live your dream Card
I love swivel cards because of the way it turn in the middle when you open the card, watching the middle of the card turning 180 degrees! And you can really treat it like a display on your table which is pleasing to the eye. Footprints were drawn using Prismacolour pen and the reason for adding footprints is to depict that in order to live your dream, you need to take steps towards your goal and achieve it by your own means. And besides that, I add in the ship in stormy weather image because it matches the quote by Louisa Mav Alcott which said “I am not afraid of storms for I am learning to sail my ship.”
I like how the whole thing turns out. Its really breathtaking to me, not because I made it but because making this card already expressed something of how I feel about dreams and achieving them.

What an amazing card – it’s like all your wonderful ideas converged to make the perfect project. Your “treasure map” mojo is spot on, and the footprints are the finishing touch. The metal anchor and ship’s steering wheel compliment your metaphor to a “T”. This will surely be one of the projects chosen as a favorite. Thank you for sharing this fabulous creation.
