Day 3
We ate breakfast at The Coffee House (food still taste terrible) before we caught a bus to the terminal and hop a ride on the free shuttle bus to somewhere near Lebuh Leith because we planned on going to Cheng Fatt Tze Mansion, also known as Blue Mansion (guided tour started at 11am).
Entrance fee is RM16. And one thing I can tell you is…the tour guide is absolutely good and it is so captivating to hear her tell the story!
According to her, she is only available every Friday in the morning so if you want your tour to be an interesting and not a boring one, go on the friday 11am 🙂 I can’t vouch for other guides but she is seriously very good storyteller so much so that it just caught everyone’s attention as she weaved the story with such interesting tone. The history of the blue mansion is very interesting, so I do recommend you to visit this place if you ever visit Penang!

After that, we walked around Love Lane which have some of the street art along the way.
We entered a cat cafe because SH who is a cat lover wanted to check it out.
All of us weren’t very impressed with the cafe. There were too little cats and the dessert/drinks sold there wasn’t even that great. The oreo cake tasted like tasteless kueh lapis instead of a cake, which we can’t even bring ourselves to finish.
We had tea break again (we seem to be eating all the time!) at some hawker before going off for the next stop which is the Penang Perankan Mansion. I cannot remember what’s the entrance fee though. There wasn’t any guided tour so we were just exploring the house. It is kind of boring for me because I personally prefer guided tour so that I will know the history behind it as I go around the house.
And then…tea break again! This time is back to the Famous Teochew Chendul because everyone was craving for it and it was nearby.
After which, we took a bus ride back to the hotel to wash up before going to the Northam Beach cafe for dinner.
I apologize that there is no pictures of the dinner this time because I was busy enjoying my black pepper and sweet/sour chili crabs! The sweet/sour chili crab tasted sooo delicious! Do order that if you are a big fan of garlic because they add loads of garlic as well!
Yummy! Sooo satisfied with dinner! <3
Last day (Day 4)
Breakfast at Zhong Hua Restaurant which was recommended by my very good friend (Her hometown is Penang so she will never go wrong!), which is actually a dim sum restaurant!
The food tasted really great! This was so much better than having breakfast at the hotel. The dim sum tasted so delicious, not to mention the carrot cake and the char kway tiao! The staff also gave some recommendation and he even explained to us how they cook the char kway tiao when we gave them our compliments. A lot of work involved behind scene, which require dedicated time and effort to cook the dish.
We cab to the next stop after checking out of hotel which is Ghee Hiang of course! As mentioned in part 2 of my penang blog posts, Mr Lee was not able to bring us to Ghee Hiang because he mentioned there was lack of carpark space. But when we went to the Ghee Hiang at Macalister Road , we were actually very surprised to see a very big empty carpark space. So we were thinking that maybe he just want to bring us to the places where he can earn commission, or he probably refer to the smaller outlet of Ghee Hiang? We chose not to think anymore about it though.
We headed back to Gurney drive where we wanted to have lunch there because it was said that the place which sells the bak khut teh tasted really good! I am not sure what is the name of the store though…but it is just along the gurney drive, walking distance from The Northam Hotel.
Food served.
So far, the food were all very good! The bak khut teh tasted really delicious, and eating with the yam rice felt so shiok! The vegetables especially the long beans were very crunchy and yummy as well. The best part is the steam fish which is my favorite of all <3
I will definitely visit that hawker again if I ever visit Penang <3
And what else? Hire a van to take us to the airport and we snooze all the way home on flight!
