It’s the start of 2015.
Have you make any new year resolution yet?
My first new year resolution is to stop myself from buying new craft supplies and materials, and make use of the one I hoarded! So what I do last week was to dig out all my scraps and rearrange according to colours, and I discovered that I have so many white scraps that I decided to use up those before taking out new pieces of paper out from packet.
So…I am back with another shaker card. A simple one this time using the white scraps I hoarded from making previous cards and digging out old clear stamp to use, to the Valentine Day’s theme since Valentine’s Day is just next month. <3
I hope this can inspired you to make some cards as well since it’s a simple process which you can work around with the tools you have. Explore your creativity and use which ever scraps and tools you have! My card may be simple but by adding some unique features like glitters or embossing, it can really spice up the whole card to create a stunning look 🙂
Valentine Shaker Card
I embossed my card base using Sizzix textured plate and Big Shot to give a really nice floral texture background. Next, I used CAMEO to cut out the “I LOVE YOU” words from the acrylic paper before adding glitters to it and sealing up using foam paper. The background of the inside of the card is created using Tim Holtz distress inks of dusty concord, faded jeans and brick red colours to create a nice “galaxy” look.
I stamped the hearts using Maroon chalk ink. After which, I decided to add glossy accent to the stamped image to make the hearts look slightly more “pop”. I also add in sticklers (Diamond) to the inner outline of the heart shapes.
And of course, posting one last final look of the whole card:
That’s about it! <3
