Happy weekend, everyone!
3 more months to my favourite holiday…Christmas! It has been quite a while but I am so so glad to be back doing something I love – card making!
I finally did a little spring cleaning of my husband’s room, reorganised my craft supplies (things has been pretty disorganised ever since I moved to the husband’s place).
I shooed my husband away and claimed his little table for my craft station – boy, I cannot wait for my very own craft table in my new home soon! As I will be really busy with the coming house renovation, I thought it will be best to start making christmas cards early. So I decided to give myself a christmas challenge today – making a christmas card out of old craft supplies which were rarely used.
So just a little note, I dug out a clear stamp collection from Recollections (Winter Wonderland) which I got it years ago, as you can see from the photo that I hardly used these stamps – squeaky clean!
As for the ink pad, back then, I am all about Stazon ink and have never really tried Ranger Archival Ink. I must say that I simply regretted not trying it out when I had the chance ages ago!
The waterproof ink worked really well with copic sketch markers, something which I really need as I used Copic Sketch markers very often.
I did a gradient layering using Sakura Koi Watercolours, from the darker blue to lighter blue shade, before I dry embossed the paper using Sizzix Snowflake embossing folder (which was already dabbed with Versamark ink). Since the embossed snowflakes imprints had the versamark ink, I sprinkled with glittered embossing powder and melted it to give a nice glittery effect on the imprints.
Next, I layered a strip of tracing paper and I used Ranger Archival ink to stamp the image and the sentiment on mixed media scrap paper. I coloured them using Copic Sketch Markers before cutting them out to layer it onto the card. I found this pretty little suede heart shape sticker somewhere in the midst of my old sticker collection which gives a nice finishing touch to my card. I drew a dotted line across using a white pen (Pentel Hydrid Roller K108 pen).
Favourite white pen – Pentel Hybrid Roller K108: It writes beautifully opaque on dark coloured paper and tracing paper. A must-have white pen!
I finished off the card by layering the watercolored paper onto my white folded cardstock, and added finishing touches of glitters from Diamond Sticklers.
That’s about it!
I hope this will be an inspiration for you to look through your old supplies and comes up with a masterpiece!
